Description (par J. During) :

“ The Gardun is an exclusively Bukharian form, part of an introductory instrumental suite, on a rhythmic cycle in 8/8 negotiated 2/4 + 3/4 + 3/4. The end of each measurement must be almost empty of melodic event. Once the original rhythm assimilated (takabum+tak+takabum+taka+takbum+, or takatak+tak+takabum+taka+takbum+), it is easy to adapt it to other modes, what I did in Dashti, Chahārgāh, Segāh, Homāyun and Rāst, as we did in these CDs. (Santur, kamānche, ‘ud, dāyre.)"
