"Les douze muqam des Ouïgours comportent tous, vers la fin, trois ou quatre chansons (dâstân naghme) dont une en 3 ou 6 temps, dans leur structure
modale spécifique. On s’est inspiré de ce modèle pour en arranger d’autres dans les modes persans Shur et Navâ, mais sans y mettre des paroles, car il est plus difficile de composer une chanson qu’un air instrumental (Kamânche (Sh. Âbedi), setâr (J. During), barbat, dâyre.)"
“Each of the twelve Uyghur Muqams display, at the end, three or four songs (dāstān naghme) adapted to their specific modal structure, one of them being in 3 or 6 beats. It was inspired by this model to arrange other modes in Persian Shur and Navā, but without putting words on it because it is more difficult to compose songs than instrumental tunes (Kamānche (Sh. Ābedi), setār (J. During), barbat, dāyre.)"
