There are two kinds of Lhopa folk songs. One is an ancient folk melody, named "Jiayi". The other was brought by another branch of Lhopas coming from India. The former sounds solemn and respectful. It is used for praising. Each sentence of the lyrics is composed of four words "Jiajinjia". The "Jiayi" is rather simple and is sung repeatedly. It can continue for several hours. The "Jiayi" songs are about the Lhopa people's origin and the history of their migration. As for the latter, owing to the influence by the music of the Lhopas from India, its melody is more clear than the "Jiayi". Moreover, people can perform it at will without the limitation of time and place.
The musical instruments of the Lhopas are Dapong (a kind of wind instrument), a Gonggang (a kind of stringed instrument), and percussion instruments such as drums, conchs and gongs.
"Kang-suo", "Harvest", "Jue-lu", "Leaving home", "Gu-luo", "Where are you going?", "Men cannot live without the sun", "The lovers are always together", and "The superiority of Hai-duo tribe" are the Lhopass' folk songs.
