"Mélodie d'harmoniques, par Kabyo (fils de) Nuwa, sur un bruit de coléoptère (fut mwag).
Le coléoptère est attaché par une patte à un brin de paille, puis maintenu devant la bouche entrouverte alors qu'il essaye de s'envoler. L'insecte fournit - c'est le cas de le dire ! - le bourdon "instrumental". En modifiant le volume de la cavité buccale qui sert de résonateur, le garçon sélectionne des harmoniques pour en faire une mélodie (technique analogue à celle de la guimbarde ou de l'arc musical, cf. les deux plages suivantes).
Jeu de garçons ou d'adolescents. Pas de circonstances particulières."
"Melody on harmonics, by Kabyo (son of) Nuwas, using the buzzing of a beetle (fut mwag).
The beetle is attached by its legs to a stem, then held in front of the mouth while it attempts to fly away. The insect provides - one must say it ! - the "instrumental" drone. By modifying the volume of the buccal cavity serving as resonator, the boy selects harmonics to make a melody (an analagous technique to that of the jew's harp or the musical bow, as in the two following tracks).
