"Chant yodlé, chzgolingo, par Fainesi.
En synchronisant sa respiration avec le pilonnement régulier d'un mortier, la chanteuse utilise différentes techniques vocales. Elle chante des syllabes sans signification en alternant voix de poitrine et voix de tête selon la technique du yodel (chigolingo) ; émet des sons en ex inspirant et également en inspirant ; produit des changements de timbre en pliant les bords de sa langue en forme de u pour obtenir des sons "flûtés". Bien qu'appartenant au groupe des Mang'anja, la chanteuse exécute un chant dans le style mangolongozi des Sena.
Exécuté ici en pilant du maïs, ce chant n'est pas obligatoirement lié à cette activité.

"Yodelled song, chigolingo, by Fainesi.
Whilst synchronisin her breathing with the regular pestling of a mortar, the singer uses different vocal techniques. She sings nonsense syllables as she alternates from chest voice to head voice, in the yodelling technique, chigolingo ; sounds are made continuously both on breathin out and breathing in ; production of timbre by folding the edges of her tongue in the shape of a U to obtain "fluted" sounds. Though she belongs to the Manganja group, the singer is performing here a song in the mangolongozi style of the Sena.
Performed hefe while pounding maize, the song is not restricted to this activity.
