"Chant de danse kozi-kozi, la danse des singes hurleurs.
Trois hommes masqués se balancent sur la place du village et chantent en alternance, en voix de fausset, selon des dessins mélodiques descendant par paliers. Au début, ils lancent un cri collectif bref en lissando, également descendant. Chacune de ces successions est introduite et fermée par un cri collectif, en un bref glissando descendant.
Exécutée la nuit quand un homme a rencontré en forêt des singes hurleurs qui se sont emparés de son ombre, cette cérémonie curative se clôt par un repas de poisson et de bouillie de manioc que le patient offre aux chanteurs."
"Song for the kozi-kozi dance, the dance of the howling-monkeys.
Three men in masks, swaying, in the village sqare, singing in alternance, in falsetto, o following melodic shapes descending in steps, with, at the beginning, the irruption of a brief cry in a downward glissando.
Performed at night after a man has met some howling-monkeys in the forest, which have seized his shadow, this curing ceremony closes with a meal of fish and mashed manioc offered by the patient to the singers."
