- Barno Is'hakova(1927-2001), Samarkand-Dushanbe. People's Artist of Tajikistan. Master of Shashmaqam. In the 40s, Israel Tolmasov taught the basis of the art of the Maqam. Later she continued her creative activity in the ensemble of maqamists at Radio Tajikistan. In the 80s she taught at the Dushanbe Institute of Arts. In the 90s, after retirement, she moved to Israel. She went down in history among the first female performers of Shashmaqom
