Cf. article de Hugo Zemp dans le « Courrier du CNRS n°42, oct. 1981 », p. 8 : "Flûte de Pan qui permet le jeu polyphonique en solo. Le musicien obtient une polyphonie à deux parties en soufflant simultanément dans deux tuyaux contigus de la flûte de Pan. Dans la pièce transcrite, le premier segment (a) est joué deux fois, le second segment (b) également ; puis le tout est répété et la fin du segment b est allongée pour constituer une formule terminale (z). La forme de la pièce est donc "aabb/aabb/z". On notera qu'à la fin de la pièce comme celle de chaque segment se caractérise par l'intervalle de seconde."

In the streamed version of the 45 rpm recording, the sounding duration of the final dyad of the transcription, which is notated as a half note with a fermata, is ~1600 milliseconds, i.e., slightly more than ~1400 msec for the interonset intervals of the preceding three dyads (eighth, eighth, quarter in the transcription), which are slightly longer than ~1250 msec for the preceding durations notated as half notes. In other words, the 'formule terminale' (see above) comprises a slight ritardando (comparable to the endings of 'Are'are pieces for an ensemble of panpipes). j.rahn, 13 November, 2014.
