Ethnographic context
In the forest of Sen-mu-ji-luo-zhuo kingdom, a female deer gave birth to a lovely baby girl named Gzugs-skyi-nyi-ma after it drank the water in which Meditation Monk washed his white scarf.
Many years later, Gzugs-skyi-nyi-ma became a very beautiful girl. She was recommened to the king Zla-ba-seng-ge by a guard of the Royal Garden, and became the young King's wife.
The imperial concubines and goblin felt envy at her. They invited a witch to steal away her jewellery which could give her protection. They also drove a wedge between the king and queen.
Not knowing about their trick, the king sent the queen to suffer in a boiling blood sea. However, the Guardian Gods of the boiling blood sea were touched by Gzugs-skyi-nyi-ma's absolute sincerity, and she could return on the way to the capital at last.
Disguising herself as a nun, Gzugs-skyi-nyi-ma preached everywhere. Feeling deeply that they were sinful, the goblin and the witch confessed in front of the nun. At that moment, the king happened to pass by, and heard what they confessed.
He understood the truth at last. He was overcome with regret, and welcame Gzugs-skyi-nyi-ma back to the palace pleasantly and shamefacedly. Gzugs-skyi-nyi-ma became the queen again.
