"Deux chants diphoniques : a) dans le style umngqokolo ngomqangi par Nowayilethi Mbizweni ; b) umngqokolo "ordinaire" par Nowayilethi Mbizweni (voix principale) et Nofirst Lungisa (Voix secondaire). Les deux pièces portent le même titre : Nondel' ekhaya, "Mariage à la maison" (cf. plage précédente consacrée à l'arc musical).
a) Nowayilethi Mbizweni dit avoir inventé le style umngokolo ngomqangi en s'inspirant du bourdonndement d'un coléoptère tenu devant la bouche, avec sélection des harmoniques dans la cavité buccale (cette technique est également pratiquée en Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée, cf. plage 33). Les lèvres en position d'un [o], elle émet deux fondamentaux avec une voix très grave : le la avec les harmoniques 4, 5 et 6 ; et le si avec les harmoniques 3, 4 et 5. Cf. sonagramme, figure 13.
b) Dans le style du umngqokolo "ordinaire", la langue est dirigée vers le devant de la bouche pendant que les lèvres restent plus ouvertes. Au début de la pièce, la seconde femme chante avec une voix naturelle, avant d'emprunter la même technique diphonique. Les deux chanteuses chantent à l'unisson trois sons fondamentaux : le fa avec les harmoniques 5 et 6, le sol avec les harmoniques 4 et 5 ; le ré avec l'harmonique 3.

"Two songs with overtone techniques : a) in the style umngqokolo ngomqangi by Nowayilethi Mbizweni ; b) "ordinary" umngqokolo by Nowayilethi Mbizweni (principal voice) and No
first Lungisa (seconclary voice). The two pieces have the same title : Nondel ekhaya, "Married at home" (compare the previous track on the musical bow).
a) Nowayilethi Mbizweni says she invented the umngokolo ngomqangi style by being inspired by the buzzing of a beetle held in front of her mouth, with selection of harmonics in the buccal cavity (this technique also being used in Papua New Guinea, compare track 55). The lips in position for an [o], she sounds two fundamentals with a very low voice :an A with harmonics 4, 5 and 6, and the B with harmonics 3, 4 and 5. See the sonagram, figure 13.
b) In the style of "ordinary" umngqokolo, the tongue is laced in the front of the mouth while the lips remain more open than in a). At the beginning of the piece, the second woman sings in a natural voice, before takin up the same overtone technique. The two women sing at the unison on three fundamental pitches : the F with harmonics 5 and 6, the G with harmonies 4 and 5, the D with harmonic 3.
