Tibetan opera is divided into the old and new section.
The old wear white mask, called white mask section. Vphyongs-rhyas county's Bing-dui-pa, Stod-lung-bdi-chin county's lang-ze-wa, Sne-gdong county's Bkra-shis-zhol-pa troupe etc., belong to this sec-tion.
Its voice is comparatively simple, action is quite short, and it looks simple and elegant.
The new wear blue mask, called blue mask section. Four troupes including Jue-mo-long, Jiong-pa, Jiang-ga, Xiang-pa belong to it. People like it very much.
A Tibetan opera can be performed about six or seven days. Each Tibetan opera consists of three parts. Part I is "dben-pa". Part Il is "Gzhung" ---- it's the main part of opera.
Part III is "Bkra-shis", including the blessed ceremony, group singing and dancing. There is a explainer in opera. His prounciation plays the role of linking up stories and telling the plot to audience. - Recording context
